Day 10: Vladivostok

We made it to Vladivostok around 9:00 pm, after riding most of the way in the rain. It was a cold, wet, and entirely awesome experience for our first day in Russia.

We already have felt very welcome and supported.. from the many cars honking and waving when they see us, to the Russian Army guys who we shared lunch with, to the people at the Petrol stations who take our picture, to the wonderful desk clerk and security guard at the hotel tonight, who brought us free beer, extra towels, toothbrushes and slippers...

  1. This is gonna be a great story. Hell, it already is! I love that for all the planning and preparation you've done, so far there's been a whole lot of muddling through, working hard to hurry up and wait and hope for the best. I'm following along, certain this adventure will expand into awesome experiences with terrain, scenery and, most importantly, meeting with many and varied good people.

    Thanks for sharing this journey!

I am showing Mom once again how to use a computer. She hopes you are doing well and not running with scissors.

Sounds like you are having a blast. Sharon says PLEASE find a laundromat as you must be starting to get ripe.
