Ulan-Ude is a fairly decent sized city, about 250,000-300,000. It boasts the largest Lenin head in the world, so we are told (I can't confirm it, but it's a big head)

Big Lenin Head.

Cory's tank bag broke off a few days ago, so he needed a new backpack bag. This is the best we could find. There was a pink Hello Kitty one, I thought he should have got, but this was his choice. :)
Cory's battery on his bike stopped working, so we had jury rigged a replacement from a lawnmower/tractor battery we had found in a small town. It was the wrong size, and was not sealed, so it was leaking acid all over the bike. It wouldn't start the bike, but would keep it running if it was started, so Cory had to keep it running each time we stopped, or I had to run over with the jumper cables and jump start it.

We found a cool store in Ulan-Ude that is 4 floors and sells literally everything from electrical parts, to transmissions to camping supplies. We spent about 2 hours there and bought lots of stuff for the bikes.

The cools parts store. Camping supplies to engines.
It was too "complicated" for us to drive the bikes to the store from the hotel, so we took the bus (#37). They are Soviet era, broken down, no suspension, smoke belching buses, and it was great fun.

That backpack had better come home with you, Corey! Frame it!
