Day 8: Sok Cho with Petar

I think I have been remiss in telling everyone about Petar, the third person in our group. Petar stayed with me last month on his way through Calgary, on his around the world motorcycle trip.

He is from Croatia, and was travelling by himself on his Yamaha 660 Tenere. He stayed with me for a couple days when he was in Calgary, when we realized he was doing a very similar route, only about 3 weeks ahead of us. So a couple of weeks before we left, he emailed and asked if it would be OK if he joined up with us for the Russian and Mongolian parts of the trip. We thought it was a great idea, safer for him and for us (3 is better than 2 in Mongolia, in case of a problem)

So instead of flying his bike over to Russia, he drove up to the top of the Dempster Highway, and then back down to Vancouver, where we met up with him. He has travelled with us since then.

We've nicknamed him "Claudio'. :)
