My grandmother has passed away. She was 98 years old.
I have been thinking about her a lot this trip, and I can't help but think of the things she witnessed in the world since she was a little girl... from the car becoming commonplace, to WWI, WWII, the computer, the internet... a lot has changed since 1911.
When we left for this trip, she came to Calgary to see us off. I was very happy she was able.
My mother had been showing her the Terranova blog, and she was following along, completely baffled at why I would want to do this crazy thing.
She has been a big part of my entire life, and I will miss her terribly. I love you Gran.
Tim.
Sorry to hear of your loss Tim - I'm sure she will watch over you and protect you the rest of your trip.

So sorry to read about your grandma.
ReplyDeleteAw Tim, I'm sorry. I wish I had a card for you! :) You are so right though, in that time she must have seen some amazing things.... incredible really when you think about it. So glad she made it to the send-off.... keep that memory in your heart and she will always be with you.
ReplyDeleteTim, Aunt Doris (Gran) was a great woman, and a cornerstone of our family for such a long time, as you and I have said to each other in the past, we can only hope to live the life she lived. Keep smiling.

ReplyDeleteI am sorry for your loss, especially when you are in another part of the world and won't be able to attend your grandmothers funeral
