Day 67 and 68: Kiev, Ukraine

Another great weather day, about 25 degrees. This won't last long, as we are getting late in the season.

About 480 km from Karkov to Kiev.

We noticed for the first time that the trees are starting to turn colors, signifying the end of summer.

Kiev is beautiful, and huge. We got here late at night, and will be here for 3 days. Dodged all the cops again today, mostly by driving r e a l l y s l o w l y all day.

We found the best internet we have had so far in the trip, so we will try and upload some more pictures, and maybe a bit more video.

We are spending today in Kiev with a day off, our butts are sore.

We spent the day at the The National Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War (of 1941-1945) (Ukrainian: Національний музей історії Великої Вітчизняної Війни 1941-1945 років, Russian: Национальный музей истории Великой Отечественной войны 1941-1945 годов) is a memorial complex commemorating the Great Patriotic War located in the southern outskirts of the Pechersk district of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, on the picturesque hills on the right-bank of the Dnieper River.

Visiting these memorials here and in Volgograd makes you realize the unbelievable sacrifice that the Russians suffered in WWII (Great Patriotic War). The loss of life is staggering. We just wish we could read more of the inscriptions in the Museum so we could understand more of what we are seeing.
