Day 73-75: Prague

We got into Prague late, as usual, and we had our GPS set to take us directly to the first BMW dealership we would find. Our bikes were in dire need of some work.

My rear Brakes were gone, and had been gone since Volgograd. The engine had been 17,000 km since the last valve adjustment, so it was ticking pretty loudly. We ended up finding a Penzion (a kind of private Hostel), which was a 1/2 block from the BMW dealership. So we booked our bikes in for service, and set up in the hostel.

The dealership did a great job on short notice of servicing our bikes, so we took the opportunity to drive into Prague that night and see the sights. We only wish we could have spent more time touring Prague, but we are always limited in what we can see in the time we have. Prague was no exception. It is a spectacular city, and very beautiful.

We left mid-day with the intent to drive most of the way to Munich, so when we got close, we started to look for a Camp for the night.

This began one of the most beautiful, twisty drives we have been on. I think the GPS was trying it's best, but we ran into a road closure, so about an hour after we started looking, we were still driving the "last" 10 km to our camp. We finally came over the hill and turned into the most idyllic looking campground we have seen. We drove up, and set up camp beside a young german guy named Matthius who was so excited to see us pull up. Turns out, he just completed a 15 month round the world motorcycle trip of his own, so we compared notes for a while, he even KNEW some of the same people we had met!

We had a great time talking the trip with him.
