After working all day packing the bikes, filling out forms and talking on the phone, it has become apparent that US customs regulations are beyond ridiculous.
We have been told by the customs office, that our bikes could clear from between 1 week (best case) and 20 days (worst case).
So we could be sitting in Orlando for up to 20 days, waiting to get our bikes.
These are the same bikes that we could drive across the Canada-US border at any time in 5 minutes. So why does it take from 7 to 20 days to clear by plane... no one could tell us.
So.... Orlando is out, we will NOT be shipping the bikes to Florida.
Instead, we will ship the bikes to Canada... Toronto to be exact, where we will make the trip south as quickly as we can to escape the weather, and then come up the coast to Vancouver as originally planned.
Will likely update the site again when we are in Toronto.
