Cuidad del Carmen and Campeche

Our route through the upper part of the Yucatan took us along the coastal area, through the towns of Cuidad Del Carmen and Campeche.   We've been making a fairly leisurely trek through this area, mostly from the number of small towns we pass through, which ends up slowing us down.

We stayed in a nice hotel in Campeche, which was overlooking the beach.  Not much to report, other than the weather continues to be consistently warm and sunny.    We're on our way to Chichen Itza tomorrow to see the Mayan ruins there.

We get this kind of reaction a lot.

One of the many old Catholic Churches we have passed

We got pulled out of line at this Military checkstop.  I think he was just interested in the bikes, as they did't really ask us any questions other than "where are you going".  Nice guy, so I gave him a sticker, which he graciously posed for a picture with.

The local Motorcycle gang we met at the gas station.  They all road Scooters and 125cc motorcycles.

The beach was covered in shells.

Cory took a ride down the beach.
