Hot. Hot. Hot.
35° C.
Troy (Austrailian) and Darren (Trinidad) thought it was great.
I thought I might have a stroke.
As we came out of the mountains and down into the plains, it got hotter.
Troy says: "It's great, I love it. I'm having fun. Don't worry, everything is ok. It's really not that hot. I thought it was only warm today."
Darren says: "The weather is just starting to get nice. It's been too cold so far in Colombia, but today was finally warmer."
Pfft… what do they know. :)
Maybe if I wasn't dressed in three layers of kevlar and padding...
We made better time late in the day, even though we came upon another 2.5 km traffic jam, although regular traffic rules don't apply to us, as we just bypass it by riding down the ditch.
This one was caused by a one way bridge that was a temporary for a larger bridge that was washed out. They would stop traffic one way for about 1/2 an hour, then switch. So like before, it was a street party on the side that was stopped, with the locals all out in force selling things to the stranded motorists.
Even with the heat, it was a great day to ride, and we all commented a couple times what an awesome time the last few days have been.

We stopped for a water break, and got mobbed by this awesome group of kids who loved the bikes. |
She was shy, but loved the bike, so FINALLY after everyone else got on, she agreed to sit on my bike. |
All her friends were egging her on. The kid behind her had to lift her into the seat. |
A local market. |
