Colombia

Ok, lets see if I can remember how to do this blog thing….  It seems like it's been so long since I've sat down and wrote about what has been going on.

As you have likely guessed from the previous blogs, we've kind of stalled a bit in Colombia.

And by stalled…. I mean we don't want to leave.

It started in Bogota, when we decided to go North instead of South.  And it just escalated from there.

Colombia is nothing like what we thought it would be.   It is modern, beautiful, relatively safe (in most areas).  The people are friendly, gregarious, have a wonderful sense of humour, and love to have fun and dance.

And the girls are really, really beautiful.  This may have something to do with it.

The Hostels are clean and nice.  Costs about  $10.00 per night for a bunk room, but in Cali, Troy and I are the only people in the room.  So it's like a private room.  The bathroom is across the hall.

When we arrived in Bogota from Panama, the nebulous plan was to spend a week here, before moving on to Ecuador.

That was 6 weeks ago.

In that time, we've travelled north through amazing roads, spent a week in Barranquilla, met some awesome people, like Toni, May, Yudis and Yury.  We got really sick.  We turned south and stayed a week in Cartagena (still sick), a few days in Manizales (still sick), a few days in Medellin (still sick), and a week in Cali (for Troy) and another week in Barranquilla for me.

In Barranquilla I met  the beautiful Vanessa.   Leaving her first in Barranquilla, then again in Cartagena, and then once more yesterday to fly back to Cali was miserable each time.

I love this place.   And I love the people.

But…  the road calls to us both, and tomorrow, we will pack up the bikes one more time, and turn south, towards Ecuador and new adventures.

I only know one thing for certain, I will return to Barranquilla, Colombia, and Vanessa one day.

When we were riding to Cali, we came across this motocross track, and they were having a race that day.  So we stopped for lunch.

These guys knew how to ride, and they were riding hard!

Usually we draw a crowd, but these people knew their motorcycles, and ours certainly stand out here.

My girl Vanessa, by the pool in Barranquilla.

I had been so sick, that I hadn't done any Yoga for over 10 days.  It felt like I hadn't done anything in 10 months I was so stiff and sore from laying in bed that long.
