Good Morning!
I'm sitting in the sand, my back on my bag of gear, under a palm tree shelter, listening to the waves lap against the shore 10 yards from my feet. The sun is shining on the red rock mountains to my left. The guys are off gathering wood. We'll be cooking dinner over the fire tonight.
We made a semi-random turn off the road after a fairly short day. Ended up at a store run by a guy who had rode his motorcycle to Panama in 1954. We inquired about camping, and he gave us directions to the place we are at now.
Before leaving the store, we picked up supplies for supper, including a couple cans of $12.00 (US) blueberry pie mix for desert. :)
We rode back the way we had come about 2 km, then turned down a dry riverbed which we followed another 1 km till we came through a stand of palm trees, emerging onto a white sand beach in a bay off the Sea of Cortez.
After riding all day in 35°C heat, we parked the bikes, immediately stripped to our underwear and dove into the warm azure waters. It was as wonderful as it sounds.
Affter playing in the waves for a bit, we made camp, pitching our tents right on the beach. We then settled in for a most amazing night of stories around the campfire, as we enjoyed dinner.
LOVE the pics!!!!!!!
