Hanging out in Arequipa, Peru

Nothing much to report, we're hanging out in Arequipa, Peru.   It's been a slow couple of weeks with being stuck in San Pedro (Chile) and now making our way back into Peru.

We stopped for another couple days in Arica, staying at the same hotel as last time.  It's not the cheapest place, but a nice hotel.  When we walked up they remembered us from our last stay there.

When checking out, we got hosed on the laundry service.  I gave them a small bag of laundry the day before, and they handed me a bill for $71.00

$71.00 for about 2 kg of laundry.  Suffice to say, it didn't leave a good impression.

We split with Zane at Arica too, he is travelling back through Bolivia to sell his bike in La Paz, and will then head over to India for a couple months.  We'll miss travelling with Zane.

I've been kind of down a bit for the last while, since San Pero in Chile.  As you'll remember, we were stuck there for a couple weeks waiting for the pass to Argentina to open.  When it didn't open (it's still closed now, three weeks later), we were forced to turn around, and come back to Peru, rather than go meet up with Troy in Argentina.

This really bummed me out, since meeting back up with Troy was something I have really been looking forward to.

So, right now, we'll travel around Peru for a while, and see some of the stuff we couldn't get to a couple months ago.

We went out dancing in Arequipa. People seem to come up to me a lot now and introduce themselves.  Wonder why??  :)
