61 Days to Go: Visa's

Getting the necessary Visa's is proving to be a lot of work. Our most complicated Visa is for Russia. We need to enter and exit Russia 3 times... and for that we need a Multi-Entry Business Visa. This is the most expensive, time consuming and complicated of all Russian Visa's.

Our route takes us as follows:

Enter Russia: Vladivostok, Russia, enter approximately July 18th-20th. We will then head North, passing through
Ussuriysk, Khabarovsk, along the M-60 over the next couple weeks, heading west to Chita, and Ulan-Ude.

Exit Russia: Kyakhta Border Crossing. Enter Mongolia. Travel through Mongolia for approximately 2 weeks. Exit
Monglia by Tsagaannur.

Enter Russia: At Mongolian Border crossing on the M-52, then travel West through Tashanta, Gorno--Altaysk, Bamaul.
Head South towards Kazakhstan

Exit Russia: On route A349. into Kazakhstan at Semipalatinsk. Travel through Kazakhstan for approximately 2 weeks.

Enter Russia: From Atyrau, Kazakhstan to Astrakhan, Russia. Travel North to Volgograd, then west to Belaya Kalitva
Exit Russia: on route E40, enter Ukraine.

We've been speaking with the Russian Embassy, and things are progressing, but every time there is a delay, we look at that big clock ticking down and it doesn't seem like there is any time at all...
