The idea was to load up close to our travel weight and see how the bikes and gear performed. We were "lucky" to have it rain on us overnight, so we got to confirm that yes, the tents were waterproof, the Frog Togs work fine, and yes, it still sucks to camp in the rain, even with proper gear.
We camped with Petar, who is crossing the world alone on his Yamaha Tenere 660. Petar is from Croatia, and stayed with me a couple days on his way through Calgary. He is going to be about 2 weeks ahead of us on some of the route, so we will try to hook up with him in Mongolia, and then detour to Croatia to visit on our way through Western Europe.
