Day 77: Munich

Trying to get out of Munich early, but the new rear tire I put on yesterday, has a ripped sidewall (factory defect) so we had to go back to the big dealer and get it fixed. Luckily we took a wrong turn, and ended up driving by BMW headquarters.

Now, don't think we're dumb or anything, but we had no idea it was there.

Not that we didn't research this trip, but there is only so much you can plan in advance, and I must say that Munich never got so much as a glance.

So we had a great afternoon touring the BMW museum and BMW Welt, which is the most immense, beautiful, over the top building full of brand new BMW's you can possibly imagine

Left Munich for Austria, got across the border, and into the Alps, which are spectacular. Stopped just over the border at an old Motorcycle/Bicycle shop.

Stayed at this beautiful little hotel, nestled in the Alps, and listened to a live marching band play in the lobby of the hotel.

They had this amazing sculpture that was a MASSIVE Marble ball suspended in a block of marble only by the thinnest of water pressure. You could set the ball spinning with one finger.
