Political Rally in Trujillo

It's two days later that I am writing this, and to be honest, I can't completely remember how we got to Trujillo.   I know we rode motorbikes there, and I think it was a medium distance day, but to be honest, it's a desert blur.

Let's just go with the result, which is we arrived in Trujillo, found the hostel without too much screwing about (which is unusual) and got set up quite nicely at a hostel very close to the city square.

We realized that there was something loud and popular going on at the main city square a block from our hostel.  So, after we cleaned up and unpacked the bikes, Troy and I took a stroll down to the city square for a look.

The crowd was large and it took us a bit to figure out what was going on.  It was a Political Rally.

As soon as we rode into Peru, we saw the candidate signs everywhere for the upcoming national election.

So this rally in the main square was for one of the politicians running for either President or Congress.    Since it was all in Spanish, and it was mostly a band singing, we didn't get much about info what they were talking about, but it was a fun experience.

The church in the square...

We are trying to illustrate here that I am a foot taller than EVERYONE in the crowd.

This is the opponent of the guy they were having the rally for.  She had a few signs up.
